Vodafone is the latest operator to jump into the music download market, having announced that its customers will have unlimited access to music downloads for £1.99 a week.

The service, called MusicStation, will feature on Vodafone's new handset range and customers will be able to choose from one million tracks by Universal Music Group, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, EMI Music, Warner Music Group, plus some independent labels.

MusicStation should prove to be a Christmas hit, with many of Vodafone's Christmas catalogue handsets including the service; the new 8GB Nokia N95, Samsung's F700, and the Sony Ericsson W910i. The "all-you-can-eat" mobile music download service was developed by Omnifone and launched earlier this year at the 3GSM conference.
