Google bottoms out in Privacy International report14:47 Mon 11 June 2007Ever wondered how the major internet players would fair in a privacy test? Privacy International has recently released it's Ranking of Internet Service Companies, which took the form of a six-month investigation into the privacy practices of key Internet based companies. The ranking lists the best and worst performers across a full range of search, email, e-commerce and social networking sites. There has been much talk about the fact that Google has been given the lowest ranking in the list, with an immediate backlash from the search giant accusing Privacy International of being in cahoots with Microsoft. You can read comments from a Google employee on the findings, or see an open letter from Privacy International to Google's CEO Eric Schmidt here.
