Merry Christmas from Excite UK

It's been a busy year at Excite UK and we hope you've enjoyed using the new services we've beta launched!

If you've not tried them out yet, take a look over the holidays. Excite Bookmarks is the new social bookmarking tool which lets you keep all your favourites from the web in one place and access them anywhere.

Don't forget you also have access to Excite MIX, which is a really simple way of making the most of RSS feeds. It's your personal dashboard that let's you add the RSS feeds (or web feeds) from your favourite sites so you can view the latest content on just one page. Plus you can also add your inbox to the page which makes staying up to date with your email easier.

We launched The Scene, a selection of fresh new content covering sports, entertainment, sex, lifestyle and the tech and web world, which you've given us some great feedback on. Let us know what you'd like to see for 2008!

Finally, due to recent company expansion, we are now on the hunt for three new production team members. If you're interested in media, are a creative writer and have a keen eye for imagery get in touch. We're looking for English, German and French native speakers to be based in our Rome office (sun, sights, great food...what more could you ask for?!)

Looking for a creative role with an internet pioneer?

Due to recent expansion in Europe, we are looking for three new team members to head up content production for our UK, French and German portals.

The role includes:
Defining an editorial brief and program
Creation of new channels / blogs which will contribute to the portal content
Production of content and articles
Creative selection of images and videos
Updating the homepage daily with breaking news and eye catching imagery
Selection and management of external collaborators for content production in the respective countries.
Promotion of Excite on the web, including forums, blogs and social networks
Collaboration with our PR agency to promote the editorial content produced

We are looking for people who are passionate about the media world with a deep understanding of the internet. Team players who enjoy participating in the news agenda and are consistently up to date with the latest trends and stories in their respective countries. The candidates selected will be enthusiastic and self motivated with sharp, creative writing skills and the ability to catch a reader's attention in few words.

Other skills required:
An understanding and minimum competence of HTML
Knowledge of a graphics program
Knowledge of and experience with blogs, social networks and RSS aggregators (feed readers).
Familiarity with the key web sites, media and internet tools used in the respective countries (UK, France, Germany)
